New research, conducted by the National Apprenticeship Service, has confirmed that most UK employers advocate the coalition's efforts to increase the number of apprenticeship schemes.
According to the survey, some 81 per cent of UK employers expect apprenticeships will have a bigger influence in their recruitment policies in the future.
Some 75 per cent, meanwhile, expressed the view that apprenticeships have been made more important due to the recession and its residual impact.
"This research demonstrates that British businesses realise how important apprenticeships can be in helping their companies to grow," commented John Hayes, the minister for skills.
Mr Hayes hailed the coalition's "clarity of policy, strength of commitment and certainty of purpose" in its bid to create record numbers of apprenticeship starts, adding that it has helped to bring about "outstanding success rates and growth across all sectors".
Earlier today (February 15th), the Office of National Statistics said that unemployment in the UK has risen once again, climbing to 2.67 million.
