The value of staff training and on-the-job experience has been emphasised by the coalition, which has just announced a new scheme designed to encourage UK businesses to take on apprentices.
In a bid to drive economic growth and help young people bridge the gap between education and employment, the coalition has also pledged to create hundreds of new training places across the country.
Vince Cable, the business secretary, observed that the government is determined to prioritise investment in apprenticeship schemes.
"Apprenticeships are at the centre of the government's skills policy because we know that they work," Mr Cable explained.
"Not only do they provide individuals with the skills they need for prosperous and rewarding careers, they also boost businesses' profits and drive growth in the wider economy."
British Airways, for example, recently announced that it intends to offer more apprenticeships than ever before this year.
Indeed, the firm said that it hopes to recruit more than 200 people through the scheme.
Silent Edge's professional development programmes can help companies make the most of their talent young workforce, enabling them to develop into effective and skilled staff members.
